NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / Septem/ Atari® (OTC PINK:PONGF) - one of the world's most iconic consumer brands and interactive entertainment producers - today released Atari Combat: Tank Fury™, a new tank-themed, match-3 puzzle role-playing game (RPG).

Kee Games was revealed as an Atari creation and the companies were merged.Build and Battle Your Way to Victory in Unique, Match-3 Tank RPG Featuring Player-versus-Player and Player-versus-Environment Competitions After a financially-disappointing year, Atari needed the funds from the success of Tank to recover their losses. While the game's popularity ensured the production of spin-offs and sequels, like Tank II, it also ensured the survival of Atari. The exciting sound effects and improved graphics helped make Tank the most popular game of 1974. This chip stores graphic data providing space for more detailed graphics. Tank was the first arcade video game to use a ROM chip. The goal is to defeat the opponent by striking them with artillery shells while navigating the dangerous minefield. The game of Tank consists of two players directing a battle tank through a maze dotted with mines. Tank, however, was not an Atari clone, but an original Kee Games production. By creating a controlled competitor, Atari was able to sell similar products from both companies to competing distributors. It was manufactured by the secret Atari subsidiary Kee Games.

Released in 1974, Tank II was the first of two sequels to the highly successful game Tank, a military shooting game.
